Bio

Award winning Photographer/Artist/Instructor Kari McKnight-Holbrook’s art is regularly featured in magazines, trade publications, hanging in galleries and private collections around the world.   Recent work can be found in Art Journaling, Cloth Paper Scissors, CPS Studios, AJ 2010 Art Calendar and in Faber Castells Art Journaling and ATC Kit instruction manuals. 

Kari has taught for years at venues both large and small, locally around Columbus OH and nationally.  This year she is teaching at Art & Soul -Las Vegas, Hampton VA, and Portland OR, the CREATE retreats in Costa Mesa and Chicago, Artiscape and various other venues.   Kari delights in sharing art and encouraging students to bloom in their personal artistic journeys.   Her engaging classes are designed with student’s pleasure and success in mind, efficiently and energetically guiding techniques while allowing for artistic self discovery and individualization.

As a young teenager, she won scholarships to Columbus Collage of Art and Design, going on to get her BA in Fine Art at Taylor University, and then on for post graduate degrees at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and Ohio Institute of Photography and Technology.  She got her Art & Spanish teaching education at Capital University.  She has been focused on art since she was a small child, and has worked in many artistic fields such as marketing and graphic design, art therapy, architectural photography and as an art teacher; all giving her a well rounded view of how art impacts lives.

Kari lives on the family farm in the Columbus Ohio area with the love of her life, her helpful and supportive husband Mike, who tolerates her forgetting about dinner, puts up with her huge mixed media stash.
