Kari has taught for years at venues both large and small, locally around Columbus OH, nationally and internationally.  A recent teaching trip to Durfort and to Paris France really kicked her art in a different direction!  Art and Soul, CREATE, Art Is You, Art Unraveled, Artiscape, and Smitten Dust are just a few of those venues she really enjoys.  She also enjoys teaching private parties, groups and companies. Kari delights in sharing art and encouraging students to bloom in their personal artistic journeys.   Her engaging classes are designed with student’s pleasure and success in mind, efficiently and energetically guiding techniques while allowing for artistic self discovery and individualization.

As a young teenager, she won scholarships to Columbus Collage of Art and Design, going on to get her BA in Fine Art at Taylor University, and then on for post graduate degrees at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and Ohio Institute of Photography and Technology.  She got her Art and Spanish teaching education at Capital University.  She has been focused on art since she was a small child, and has worked in many artistic fields such as marketing and graphic design, art therapy, architectural photography and as an art teacher; all giving her a well rounded view of how art impacts lives.

Her informative and lively Cloth Paper Scissors Video Workshops "Backgrounds to Bindings", "Polymer Clay Vessels", "Painting Collage in Layers", "Gelatin Plate Printed Journal", and "Mixed media Faces Made Easy"   and her webinars "Delectable Doodles and Beyond," and "Creative Lettering: Using Your Doodles" are all available from Interweave/F & W Publishing, and her own unique large stamp line is available on her Etsy Site, as well as in select stores.  She can also be found on Craft Daily TV.

Kari lives on the family farm in the Columbus Ohio area with the love of her life, her helpful and supportive husband Mike, who tolerates her forgetting about dinner, puts up with her huge mixed media stash.
